Rotary Governor’s visit to Rotary Calvià on Monday 4th October

visited us on our regular Monday lunch meeting. Our president John Robbins give a small presentation of our activities for the year 2021 including ongoing projects, such as the Galatzo Walk, Jazz night, School Debates and assisting, for example, the Association Tardor among others. Tardor is a non-profit entity created in 2014, duly registered in the Registre d’Associacions de les Illes Balears, founded by its president Juan Marcos Darder (Jonny Darder), with more than 26 years of experience in different centres such as monitor and educator within the social care network, Marga Palou, vice president and Toni Bauzá, secretary. These last two have more than 20 years of personal experience in various entities related to the care of people in situations of social exclusion and extreme poverty.

The person in charge of the food project, María Eugenia Echegaray is in charge of managing the soup kitchen. In its beginnings, the association had a small dining room on Calle Eusebio Estada de Palma, which over time became too small to serve the 580 meals per day to the people served.
