On Monday 21-06-2021 a new Active member , Chris Bennet, and a new Associate member, Peter Pietsch were Inducted into Rotary Club Calvià International. They were warmly welcomed by all members.

Archduke Luis Salvador was the forerunner of tourism in the Balearic Islands . He arrived in Mallorca for the first time in 1867, traveling incognito under the name of Count of Neudorf . Some time later, he established his archducal residence on the estate of «La Estaca», the name of the now main Mallorcan possession, a sum of a dozen estates belonging to the municipalities of Valldemosa and Deyá , acquired around 1878, and from where the view to the mediterranean sea is fabulous. His lands were dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables and legumes, fruit trees, and vineyards with which His Royal Highness, a good connoisseur of the necessary procedures, made award-winning wines at the international exhibitions in Madrid , Paris , Chicago , and the Barcelona in 1888 , an exhibition in which the oil from Son Moragues , one of the estates located in Deiá , was also awarded , in which the Archduke created an exhibition that he called the Balearic Industrial Agricultural Museum.
