SOS MAMAS BALEARES
The Rotary Club Calvia International has been supporting SOS MAMAS for several years. We contributed to the establishment of a professional kitchen, where fresh meals are now prepared daily for children, their parents, and grandparents. Thanks to our donations, essential supplies such as food, diapers, and other basic necessities are provided to families in need. Additionally, every year our members purchase children’s letters to Father Christmas for 30 Euros, ensuring that each child’s Christmas wish is fulfilled.
About SOS MAMAS
The SOS MAMÁS BALEARES CONHORT Foundation is a non-profit organization with the primary objective of efficiently managing the aid we receive, in order to alleviate the needs of those we assist as much as possible.
Founded in 2011 by Ascen Maestre, the organization originated as a response to her personal situation, which required her to put her professional life on hold due to health reasons. Despite these challenges, Ascen was determined to continue her mission of helping others. Initially, SOS MAMAS focused on supporting expectant mothers without resources by providing baby clothing and other essential items.
Over time, SOS MAMAS has evolved and now offers assistance to families with children, adults, and grandparents. Central to this mission is the SOS MAMÁS TABLE, a unique initiative that provides a welcoming family dining environment.
Our dining room, adorned with children’s artwork, offers a warm and supportive atmosphere where families can momentarily escape the difficulties of their daily lives. This is a Family Dining Room unlike traditional soup kitchens. Here, everyone—young and old—participates in setting and clearing the table, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility, just like a family.
