This is a note which has gone from our S @ A, Geoff Moore, to all our members:

The State of Alert is gradually being relaxed in Spain, region by region in a phased way. Phase One in Mallorca begins on Monday 11th May.

Phase One allows restaurants and hotels to open with many conditions attached.

I am delighted to announce that the restaurant at the Hotel Bendinat will open next week. This means that we can start our weekly lunch meetings from May 18th.

However, there are specific and strict conditions attached to this permission to reopen.

  • Our meetings will be restricted to a maximum of 20 people. This limit will be strictly enforced, with no exceptions.

  • We will be seated on two tables of ten people each maximum. These tables will be placed two meters apart.

Due to the constraint on numbers, we will, for now at least, only allow Full Members, Honorary Members, and Associate Members to our first few meetings until the rules are relaxed further, and attendance will be on the basis of the first 20 replies I get to the invitation.

I will maintain a waiting list for places, and if anyone drops out, I will offer their place to those on the waiting list.

Obviously there will be some concerns, individually, but a measured approach and maintenance of the social distancing and hygiene rules should minimise the risks. As and when things settle down, we will be able to welcome visitors back too.
